WHAT WILL WE EAT??
You will be in a cooking group of six people; a combination of two tents. It is really important that you eat filling, nutritious food to keep you warm and give you the energy you need to hike carrying your pack. Food is not just flavour but FUEL for your body. Your body will not perform if you don't eat or fill yourself with sugar.
One the first night, you and your cooking group will be responsible for cooking your own dinner on camp stoves. You will be trained how to use these stoves so don't worry! Galileo will provide the ingredients. You can choose from two options and all members of the cooking group have to agree.
Option One: Pasta with tuna (optional for vegetarians), peas, tomato/herb sauce and parmesan cheese.
Option Two: Coconut vegetable curry (spicy or mild) with chickpeas, sweet potato, carrot and peas with cous cous.
On the second night a small group of students will be helping to prepare dinner for everyone at the camp site. There will be a hot, comforting meal and dessert. All students will help in some way, either cleaning, setting up or cooking.
